Thursday Plan

Breakfast is available from 0745 to 0900. Don‘t forget to pay your bar bill before you leave.

Departure and Travel

We will drive about 1 mile along the seafront to a car park near the pier, and hope to start walking about 0930.

The Walk

The walk starts through the streets of Swanage, but soon comes into open country at the Townsend Nature Reserve. We will eventually be rewarded with wonderful sea views, after which we follow the coast to Durlston Castle. Here there is an interesting stone globe, a visitor centre, and a café. I might allow a coffee stop! There is then an easy descent to Swanage, followed by an optional loop round Peveril Point. Click for a map of the walk.

Lunch

At the end of this walk you are free to do what you like. You may like to drive up to the Durlston Head café (where you will have to pay to park), find a suitable café in Swanage, or stop somewhere on your way home.
